A Journey that lead to Four Generations of Beekeeping

Our Families Journey began when my grandfather began keeping bees in California in the 1940’s, when honey cost $5 for 60 lbs.  My parents, who are now in their 70’s, still keeps bees in California.  Generations have enjoyed buying honey from their small roadside stand and customers have become friends, stopping just to talk story.
In 2004, I became the third generation to keep bees and continue the legacy of providing the finest raw unfiltered honey for a reasonable price.
The Island of Hawaii is best known as the “Big Island” and is the size of all the other islands combined.  What makes the island unique is that it hosts 10 of the worlds 14 climate zones.  It’s this variety that contributes to the aroma and flavor of our raw unfiltered honey.
My business, Hamakua Apiaries,  place our bee yards across the Big Island so that we can provide you with the world’s finest varietal honeys.
Hamakua Apiaries take pride in how we steward our bees and the way the honey is collected.  In addition to providing you the best Hawaiian honey, we choose locations that have nectar flows all year.  The means we do not have to supplement the nutritional needs of the bees.
We have also mentored other beekeepers, that have been succesful following our quality practices. We also provide informational Blogs to help with you beekeeping journey.
In addition to Varietal Wild Flower Honey, Hamakua Apiaries produces Ohia Lehua HoneyMacadamia Nut Honey, and Christmas Berry Honey.  When you order from Us, you purchase the goodness and quality the bees created for themselves.
